  • Flexlain® Polyester Coating Technologies

The UNICHEM scientific team prides itself in having the ability to maximize performance using this technology, keeping your economics in line while achieving higher levels of the performance you need. If your products have been served well using polyester technology, but you are looking for a better, more consistent, or higher-performing solution, UNICHEM’s Flexlain Technology might be just what you are looking for.

When performance demands excel, and requirements are more extreme, polyester coatings may not provide adequate long-term performance, which is where other coatings systems may be better suited. If that is the case, we invite you to take a closer look at our other coatings systems throughout our website or, better yet, to see if UNICHEM’s Flexlain Technology is the right solution for you, please contact us.

  • uniRASE 300 Dry Erase Finish

Unichem’s uniRASE 300 technology is our 4th Generation workhorse, coil coated applied, premium dry erase finish. This technology offers dry eraseability rivaling porcelain but at a cost much closer to conventional dry erase coatings. It offered in a variety of options including, clear or pigmented in various colors, high or low gloss for projection applications and can also be supplied with Unichem uniCLEAR Antimicrobial technology as well.

  • uniRASE 500 Sublimated Dry Erase Finish

Unichem uniRASE 500 offers all the benefits of our uniRASE 300 technology but has the added benefit of being able to be sublimated, a process that can embed permanent, photo quality image printing, while still maintaining all the dry erase properties rivaling porcelain but at a cost much closer to conventional dry erase coatings. It is offered in a variety of options including, clear or pigmented in various colors, high or low gloss for projection applications and can also be supplied with Unichem uniCLEAR Antimicrobial technology as well.

NANO Technology Enhances Performance

NANO technology enhances performance on surfaces by creating a special bond that improves durability with high structural stability and a smooth, anti-aging effect. NANO technology seals surfaces which helps to repel dirt and water for easy cleaning and long lasting surface performance. The term “nano” means “dwarf”, one nanometer equals ten millionths of a centimeter. Nanotechnology for coatings creates a consistent arrangement of molecules which fills uneven areas or small pores of surfaces with tiny particles to create a smooth surface.

This special bond provides enhanced durability and resistance to dirt or moisture. Nanocoating technology is sometimes referred to as providing the lotus effect, as the results mimic the effects of water droplets on the lotus flower which exhibits self-cleaning properties as water droplets pick up dirt particles and simply roll off the leaves of the lotus flower with minimal adhesion.

This phenomenon of ultrahydrophobicity, meaning extremely difficult to wet, was studied in 1964 by Johnson and Dettre which developed into experiments with PTFE, leading to developments like Teflon™. This was further studied in the 1970’s by Wilhelm Barthlott who described the self-cleaning properties as the “lotus effect”, which led to further developments of nanotechnology for various applications in the 1980’s and 1990’s.

NANO Technology Application Uses

UNICHEM offers NANO technology for our uniRASE dry erase finish coatings for a smooth, durable finish. This technology can be custom developed for various surface coatings and applications where water and corrosion resistance are beneficial. Some applications where nanotechnology surface coatings improve product performance include automobiles, boats, fabrics, upholstery, showers, glass, windows, and appliances.

Nanotechnology has been known to prevent limescale in areas exposed to water and keeps surfaces cleaner and more sanitary by repelling dirt and smoothing surfaces to repel bacteria. Surfaces treated with nanotechnology can also become more heat resistant, making it a great choice for products like barbecue grills or fabrics that could be exposed to sparks or heat.

Benefits of UNICHEM’s NANO Technology

Nanotechnology on surface coatings is a long-term investment that provides many worthwhile advantages. Benefits of nanotechnologies include:

Easy to clean surfaces – nanotechnology makes surfaces easier to clean with dirt repellent properties.

Corrosion resistant – nano coatings can also be beneficial on surfaces exposed to wind and water such as boats and marinas and cars exposed to salts on the road.

Repels oils and fats – nano coatings have also been known to make wiping away greasy residue easier by repelling oils and fats with oleophobic properties, this is ideal in appliances and flooring.

Scratch and scuff resistant – resisting scratches and scuff marks keeps products looking newer longer, and helps to prevent exposed areas that may become susceptible to rust, corrosion or bacteria.

UNICHEM’s NANO technology helps to maintain surface integrity for longer lasting, vibrant colors, gloss and performance with a smooth, non-porous surface. Our NANO technology provides a long lasting, high-performance dry erase finish for collaboration of business and corporate professionals with a vibrant work study area, and sublimation printing capabilities for brand awareness.
